Rough Day – update from my mom

Karen and I came back from Zion about noon yesterday, after my long chemo session on Friday afternoon. Usually by the next afternoon I feel pretty normal, but not this time. I basically slept from soon after arriving home yesterday until this morning, getting up every couple hours for a few minutes. Definitely wasn’t expecting that!

I still don’t feel very energetic but am basically functional. Some of this might be due to the surgical collar causing stress on my body. It appears likely that I’ll be released from it by the surgeon next week, but not certain.

My post-chemo condition is still very mild compared to that of many others’, so I’m grateful for everything that is helping me — good food, good medical care, good friends praying for me and with me.

We don’t have a schedule for next week yet, I should be hearing from CTCA tomorrow. Meanwhile, I’d be wise to just focus on resting as much as possible. Feel free to remind me of that if needed!

Love to all,
Helen

Sounds all too familiar. I am nearing the end of a second round of chemo. Dr.. said today that she is pleased with the CT from last week.. This week I have PET Tues. and Bone Scan Thursday… Think I’ll do absolutely nothing on Friday —– and maybe Saturday also. We can think of one another doing nothing and know it’s OK ! ! ! If PET is a good as CT /can be taken off chemo before end of April… My DOC loves pictures. Think I’ll consult with C’dale hospital and have a gallery opening soon! LUV JAN

Dear Helen, would you like to try Qi Gong again? Do you remember Dr. Zhu ? You went to his Qi Gong class in 2008. He has a research project about Qi Gong and Cancer remedy which is sponsored by the National Institutes of Health. He offers a free Qi Gong class every week for cancer patients in C-U. If you are interested in it, I’d like to give you his email address.

    Dear Helen,

I returned home yesterday from a little bit of Heaven on Earth…our Pilgrimage could not have been better but you already know that!! You and all the people I could think of have been prayed for with love at The Holy Shrines!

I liked Bill calling you Cancer Fighter…I picture you in a tee shirt with that printed on the front with your hands on your hips just daring it to come after you saying here I come to save the day…remember Might Mouse??

When you are feeling better let’s do lunch!!! A park would be a lovely place for that when it is warmer!

    Hugs and love you lots,Lynn
